The Air Venturi Big Bore Round Pellets are designed for powerful PCP air rifles in .50 calibre. With a diameter of 12.7mm (.50) and a weight of 177 grain, they are among the heaviest forms of air rifle ammunition. Their classic round shape ensures stable performance at short to medium ranges, ideal for powerful shooting within approximately 35 to 50 metres. Unlike aerodynamic slugs, these round pellets are less suitable for long-range work, but they do offer robust energy transfer and consistency at high joule output.

Our experience from the Shogun team

In our tests with powerful PCPs such as the Air Venturi or Dragon Claw, these round balls perform reliably up to around 40–50 metres. The substantial weight of 177 grain provides a stable flight, but due to the simple ball shape, there is increased sensitivity to crosswinds and a flatter ballistic trajectory. For precision shooters at shorter distances or for recreational use, these are solid projectiles with impressive impact. Please note: they are not compatible with the Umarex Hammer, due to tolerances in the loading system.

Technical features in practice

These round pellets for PCP air rifles have a diameter of 12.7mm and a weight of 177 grain, with a classic round shape that provides minimal friction but a lower ballistic coefficient. Each box contains 100 pieces. Due to their high weight, they retain a lot of kinetic energy up to about 45 metres. The use of a chronograph is recommended to check whether your air rifle achieves sufficient muzzle velocity for a stable shot pattern with this type of ammunition.
