During a weekend trip in the Ardennes, we thoroughly tested this knife. The razor-sharp blade sliced effortlessly through thick rope and prepared our meals without any issues. The backlock felt reliable, although we noticed that unlocking it requires some force in cold conditions.

Performance and sharpness of this knife

The 420HC steel with a hardness of 58 HRC offers a good balance between sharpness and ease of maintenance. This stainless steel retains its edge reasonably well and is easy to resharpen. The blade length of 9.5 cm with a plain-edge grind cuts excellently through wood, rope and food.

Grip and ease of use

The Crelicam™ ebony wood handles with brass bolsters feel premium and provide an ergonomic grip, even with wet hands. The opening mechanism consists of a classic nail nick, meaning the knife cannot be opened one-handed – you need both hands.

Maintenance and durability

The 420HC material is reasonably corrosion-resistant but benefits from an occasional drop of oil on the hinge. Wiping it clean after use and storing it dry prevents corrosion. The included leather sheath protects the knife perfectly during transport and prevents damage to the blade finish.
