During a weekend trip, we tested the Groenblad extensively. The pocket knife opened smoothly and felt comfortable in the hand when cutting rope and preparing food. However, we did notice that the black oxide coating showed slight signs of wear after frequent use.

The 8.6 cm long blade is made from 3Cr13 stainless steel – a reliable entry-level steel that is scratch-resistant and easy to maintain. The droppoint shape with plain-edge grind remains reasonably sharp and cuts effortlessly through wood, cardboard, and food. For heavier use, we recommend a premium steel type, but for everyday tasks this pocket knife performs well.

Grip and ease of use

The green handle provides a warm, natural grip that holds well even with wet hands. The spring-assisted opening mechanism opens the knife smoothly, while the linerlock securely locks the blade. The pocket clip is sturdy but a bit stiff at first use. The knife can be opened one-handed.
