We tested the Green Spider during camping weekends and daily use. The spring-assisted mechanism operates smoothly, although we noticed the spring can be a bit powerful at times. The linerlock keeps the blade securely in place, even during more intensive cutting tasks.
Performance and sharpness of this pocket knife
The 9.5 cm long blade is made from 3Cr13 stainless steel – an entry-level steel that offers good corrosion resistance. The plain-edge cutting edge slices effortlessly through rope, cardboard and food. The coated finish protects the blade from scratches. Don’t expect the edge retention of premium steel, but for everyday use it performs well.
Grip and ease of use
The aluminium handle with 3D-print pattern provides surprisingly good grip, even with wet hands. This knife can be opened one-handed thanks to the spring mechanism. The linerlock is easily released with your thumb. At 149 grams, the pocket knife feels light yet solid.
