JSB Knock Out Slugs MKII – heavy slugs for long-range precision

The JSB Knock Out Slugs MKII are specially developed for PCP air rifles with sufficient power. With a weight of 25.39 grain and a hollow point design, these 5.5mm slugs perform best in powerful PCP systems from 40 joules upwards. The aerodynamic MKII design ensures a stable flight at distances of 75 to 100 metres, where traditional pellets lose precision.

Our experience from the Shogun team

In our tests, these JSB slugs performed excellently in PCP air rifles with a power output between 40 and 60 joules. The heavier projectile retains its energy better over longer distances than lighter alternatives. The new MKII shape noticeably improves stability, especially in changing wind conditions. At 75 to 100 metres, we saw consistent groupings, making these slugs ideal for precision shooting at greater distances.

Technical features in practice

With a diameter of 5.49mm and a weight of 25.39 grain, these lead slugs offer a high sectional density. The hollow point projectile shape ensures excellent energy transfer on impact. Each pack contains 200 pieces, enough to test various air pressures and settings. The ballistic coefficient of 0.086 translates to a flat trajectory and predictable flight paths, essential for accurate long-range shooting.

Who are these air rifle slugs suitable for?

These slugs are ideal for experienced shooters with powerful PCP systems who want to perform at distances where pellets fall short. Think of Field Target competitions at longer ranges or precision shooting from 75 metres. Thanks to the hollow point design, they are also suitable for pest control, but please note that the use of an air rifle for this purpose is legally regulated. In many cases, a permit or hunting licence is required, and this is only permitted for recognised controllers or certified users.
