The Tactical Karambit by Tac Force is a striking pocket knife with a characteristic curved shape. This EDC knife features a unique hawkbill blade shape that originates from Southeast Asia. During testing, we were particularly impressed by the speed of the opening mechanism – a single press on the thumb stud and the knife opens instantly. The curved blade proved surprisingly handy for cutting rope and cardboard. The pocket clip is secure but a bit stiff when new.

Performance and sharpness of this karambit

The 6.35 cm long blade is made from 440A stainless steel – a reliable steel type that retains its sharpness well and is easy to maintain. The blade finish with coating protects against scratches. This pocket knife cuts effortlessly through rope, cardboard and plastic, although the curved shape is less suitable for cutting food on a chopping board.

Grip and ease of use

Weighing 175 grams, this karambit feels solid but not heavy. The grey steel handle offers an ergonomic grip, even with wet hands. The locking linerlock system keeps the knife safely open during use. Thanks to the spring-assisted mechanism, the knife can be opened one-handed.

Who is this karambit suitable for?

This knife is perfect for EDC users looking for a striking yet functional knife. Beginners may need some time to get used to the curved shape, but will soon find it handy for specific tasks. Less suitable for bushcraft or heavy outdoor work due to the relatively thin blade (3mm). Collectors appreciate the unique design and affordable price.

Maintenance and durability

The 440A steel is stainless steel but does require some maintenance. Wipe the knife clean with a dry cloth after use and oil the hinge monthly. The blade remains sharp for a reasonable time but is also easy to sharpen with a sharpening stone. The coated finish may show wear with intensive use.
