The Takumitak Hitter is a robust fixed blade knife with a thick 4.71 mm D2 steel blade in a spearpoint shape. This versatile knife is perfect for EDC and outdoor use thanks to its full tang construction and CNC-machined G10 handles. The blade of 14 cm is machine-crafted for optimal performance.

During our bushcraft test, the excellent balance was immediately noticeable. The knife sits firmly in the hand, even in wet conditions. The pressure-retention kydex sheath allows for quick and smooth drawing, ideal when you need both hands for other tasks.

Performance and sharpness of this knife

The D2 steel with a hardness of 62 HRC retains its sharpness exceptionally well. The plain-edge grind and spearpoint shape make it suitable for precise cutting tasks in rope, wood, and food preparation. The steel does require regular maintenance to prevent rust, but it offers superior cutting performance.

Grip and ease of use

The CNC-machined G10 handles provide excellent grip, even with wet or oily hands. The weight of 306 grams gives a solid feel without being too heavy. The included MOLLE system clip allows for vertical or horizontal carry for both left- and right-handed users.

Maintenance and durability

The D2 steel is not stainless, so regular cleaning and oiling is necessary. After use, dry the blade and apply a light coat of oil. The hardness of 62 HRC means sharpening takes a bit more effort, but the knife stays sharp much longer than softer steels.
