During a multi-day survival trip, we extensively tested this knife. The large size takes some getting used to, but when chopping branches and preparing wood, it performed excellently. The coarse serrations on the spine proved useful for scraping tinder.

The 3Cr13 steel is a reliable stainless steel that retains its sharpness reasonably well under normal use – ideal for beginners as it is easy to maintain. This bowie knife cuts effectively through rope, wood, and food. The polished blade with a plain-edge cutting edge offers a good balance between sharpness and durability.

Grip and ease of use

The sturdy rubber handle with hand guard sits comfortably in the hand, even during prolonged use. At 833 grams, this knife is heavier than average, which provides power for chopping tasks. The texture of the rubber ensures a good grip, even with wet hands.

Who is this knife suitable for?

This outdoor knife is ideal for the experienced bushcrafter or survivalist looking for a robust tool. Due to its large size, it is less suitable for EDC, but perfect for base camp tasks. Beginners can use this knife, but it does require some getting used to because of the weight.

Maintenance and durability

The 3Cr13 steel is reasonably corrosion-resistant but requires regular maintenance. Wiping down with a cloth and lightly oiling after use prevents corrosion. The included nylon sheath protects the knife during transport and features a practical belt loop.
